Personal Profile of John Roomes

John Roomes has an executive MBA, a BA in Finance and a Diploma in Accounts. He has also taken a number of Bible-related study courses.
He has been a lay leader in church since his teens and has held a number of major leadership positions at the local and national denominational level. He served for many years with Youth for Christ. He has led a number of short-term missions trips to Cuba, and has been involved in the Jamaica Association of Evangelicals. Before joining Wycliffe, he held a number of middle and senior positions in several organisations including that of Manager of Finance and Information Technology at a large financial institution.
He currently serves as CEO of Wycliffe Caribbean.
His motivating vision is that Caribbean churches and individual Christians become a powerful missions force, with at least 300 persons mobilised into Bible translation-related, cross-cultural foreign missions by the year 2012.
John is married to Denise and they are the parents of Davin and Devonie.
